Together We Can Stop Bullying!

My team and I are committed to making the school the primary community for our students. The Board of Directors adopted a No Bullying resolution, known as Zero Tolerance for Bullying, to ensure that all children are safe and secure at school as they go about their primary goal of learning. Bullying must stop and we have to be sure no student feels threatened or put down by another student. All of us have a responsibility as parents, caretakers, educators, and Board members. October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month and we encourage you to join in and help us [...]

Recently, a Choice School Leader from Benton Harbor Charter School Academy in Benton Harbor, MI sent out a message to his staff that not only inspired us, but reminded us of why our work is so needed. From the Desk of Principal Tim Harris… a true story of poverty, diversity, and restrictedness in the classroom. “…Because I’m an educator, the inevitable failures (of our students) belong to me,” claimed Principal Tim Harris as he explained the understanding of children in poverty to [...]

School Closing Information

We are sad to report that school will not be in session Monday, January 13, 2014, due to a burst in the indoor sprinkler system that has caused flooding throughout areas of our school building. While the water damage in the school is pretty extensive, it primarily impacts our front office area, as well as a few classrooms. We are working as quickly as possible to clean up and repair the water damage. At this time, we are closing school for Monday the 13th, but are planning to RE-OPEN on Tuesday, January 14, for all grades except GSRP. Parents of [...]
