7th graders at Benton Harbor Charter School Academy are developing business plans with their business startup mentors to present to THE SHARKS in June.  The Sharks really are coming! Mentors are volunteers from Whirlpool Corporation, United Way, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Mosaic CCDA.  Alloyd Blackmon of Whirlpool is coordinating the mentors who are paired up with a 7th grader to develop his or her business plan and presentation to the Sharks.  The Shark Tank Project will be conducted in the summer 2017 and throughout the student’s 8th-grade year at BHCSA. Together We Can Stop Bullying!

My team and I are committed to making the school the primary community for our students. The Board of Directors adopted a No Bullying resolution, known as Zero Tolerance for Bullying, to ensure that all children are safe and secure at school as they go about their primary goal of learning. Bullying must stop and we have to be sure no student feels threatened or put down by another student. All of us have a responsibility as parents, caretakers, educators, and Board members. October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month and we encourage you to join in and help us [...]

Principal Wrote an Inspirational Letter to Staff

Recently, a Choice School Leader from Benton Harbor Charter School Academy in Benton Harbor, MI sent out a message to his staff that not only inspired us, but reminded us of why our work is so needed. When a message this good lands in your inbox, you can’t help but share it. Take a read. School Closing Information

We are sad to report that school will not be in session Monday, January 13, 2014, due to a burst in the indoor sprinkler system that has caused flooding throughout areas of our school building. While the water damage in the school is pretty extensive, it primarily impacts our front office area, as well as a few classrooms. We are working as quickly as possible to clean up and repair the water damage.
